2012 Family Update

Here is an end of year review of the Farr Family:

Noah turned two in April.  He brings with him every joy of a two year old...from saying new sentences to coloring and destroying things.  He is such a delight!

Mason turned 5 in April.  He started Kindergarten this year and is doing great with his numbers, letters, and reading.  He loves to draw the planets in order and list them.  He yearns for knowledge and is always asking us lots of questions:

Lexi is in fourth grade this year.  She loves to be involved in activities such as Silver Falcon Singers (Extra Choir group at school), Battle of the Books, and Activity Days.  She is a great helper at home and wants to always follow the rules.  For Lexi...everything is black and white:

Kaylee started Middle School this year and has had no trouble adjusting.  It's all about friends, and make-up (which is only mascara and lip gloss), and boys, and texting, and more friends.  She is in 6th grade this year.   Some of the classes she is taking this year are band (trombone), advanced math (7th grade), and a class where she learns different languages.

Jordan is enjoying his last year in middle school.  He plays the trumpet in band and really enjoys it.  He loves Math and is just about to start an advanced course.  He likes going to Young Men's and being active in his church activities. He is currently the Deacons Quorum President.

Kristi keeps busy being a mom, working as a pharmacy technician at Target, and working as the 2nd Counselor in the Primary Presidency.

Doug is always busy.  He continues to work at Greeley Central High School as the Band Director.  He loves working with the teenagers.  His band attends most of the football games and basketball games. In 2012, Doug directed the musical Anything Goes, and his Wind Ensemble scored straight ones (perfect scores) in competition. Marching band did well in the fall but fell short of going to state quarter finals by just 4 points. The bands have many performances throughout the year and they are fast approaching the 2013 Musical... the King and I. Instead of directing this spring Doug will be playing the percussion parts. He also has been playing timpani in the Greeley Chamber Orchestra and they recently performed Mozarts Requiem.  In addition, he has a few music callings in church (plays the organ and is the Stake Music Coordinator).

We recently moved from a 3 bedroom home to a 5 bedroom home (still in Greeley).  The kids are enjoying their own finished bedrooms.  (Two of them were in an unfinished portion of the basement in the old house).  We are still getting settled but love the new carpet and extra space.

(I took 12 family pictures...these were the best ones...ha ha ha. I guess I need to learn how to photo shop :))

We had a wonderful 2012 and look forward to a new year.

Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas this year.  It is a tradition that we take a picture of the kids all lined up before  opening presents:
We haven't had very much snow this year and it has been a little disappointing.  To our wonderful surprise it started snowing on Christmas Eve.  We decided to bundle up and go sledding on Christmas.  Jordan:

Noah....after going down the first time...(apparently he got a lot of snow in his face)
Noah having fun....he liked just standing at the top of the hill and pushing everyone down.
Sorry these pictures aren't fabulous.  I took them several feet away.  We had a great Christmas!

Gingerbread House Contest

Each year I enjoy entering my work's Gingerbread House Contest.  This year I made the theme...The Three Little Pigs.  It was fun to make.  This year I tied for Second Place.  The First Place winner did a Candyland Board...it was amazing.

Trains

Both Mason and Noah love playing with trains.  Here is a snapshot of Noah riding his toy train.

At Elitch Gardens theme park, the Ride Attendants made everyone give a thumbs up when they were ready to start each ride.  Noah loves giving the thumbs up sign now.

Silver Falcon Singers

This year Lexi is in Silver Falcon Singers.  She goes twice a week before school for practices and really enjoys being in the group.  She had her Christmas Concert, which was very enjoyable.

Jordan and Kaylee had their Middle School Band concert at the same time as Lexi's concert.  Doug went to their concert, but we weren't able to get pictures of them.  Jordan plays the Trumpet and Kaylee plays the trombone.

Halloween

Halloween was filled with parties, games, and......CANDY!
Mason was a knight at his school party and spiderman when he went trick or treating.
Lexi was a pumpkin bobble head.
 Kaylee as a vampire.
Noah was Spongebob, but I didn't get his picture in costume for some reason.  Jordan dressed up like a pirate and took the two little boys trick or treating.  CANDY CANDY CANDY!!

Cottonwood Farms

We had a blast going to Cottonwood Farms this year with Marilee and her family.  They had a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hay maze (for younger children), and lots of animals for the kids to look at.

Second Day of School

This is Kaylee on the SECOND day of school.  She sprained her toe playing in the backyard and we ended up taking her to emergency.  She had to wear this Cast Shoe for a week.
