They were only here for a short time, but we were able to squeeze in a few fun things. We went to the park on the way up to Estes Park. The fall colors were beautiful:While we were in Estes, we stopped to see the Elk (and to get an ice cream cone):
The next day was Grandpa's birthday. We went to the pumpkin patch to pick out this year's pumpkins. (Pictures were taken on my phone...I'll have to figure out how to transfer them later). We had a birthday party with cake, ice cream, presents..etc. It was fun to celebrate.
I was going to put "Happy Birthday Grandpa" on the cake, but Mason wanted me to put "Happy Birthday Alan". Silly kid. The cake looks really good...and I tried a new checkerboard pan that I got for my birthday, so that was fun. BUT, in reality it was really dry. Next time I'll try a different recipe. As long as we had ice cream or a lot of frosting with each bite, it was edible. (Sorry Grandpa). I'm glad we had the time to visit. It went by sooo fast.
