Battle of the Books

Kaylee participated in this year's Battle of the Books. Her team didn't make it to the district level, but she had an enjoyable time anyways.
Princesses of "BOB" was the team name they chose. Kaylee is the one in the bottom right hand corner.

Mason turns 4!

Mason turned 4 last Saturday. After making him some yummy pancakes for breakfast he opened his present. He loved playing with his new gifts. We headed out to the restaurant of his choice for lunch. He chose Wendy's. Afterwards we went to the Funplex for a game of Miniature Golf. When we arrived home he blew out his candles on his Spiderman cake that I made for him.

Finally!

Lexi had her birthday in the beginning of March, but she has been waiting in anticipation for her birthday party. Today we finally were able to accommodate her wishes. Our family was burdened with the stomach flu for the past few weeks, but we have been well for over a week...and hopefully we'll stay that way for a long time. She chose two friends to go the funplex and go swimming (she has a lot of friends so this was a difficult choice for her). After swimming we came back to the house for food and presents. We all had a good time. I made these butterfly cupcakes for her birthday. They were really fun to make. Eight years old! I think it took her like 4 or 5 blows to blow out all of the candles. Here she is with one of her presents:

Garden of the Gods

Over the weekend we had the opportunity to head out of town. We traveled a couple hours away to Colorado Springs. While we were there we went to the Garden of the Gods. It was a lot of fun hiking around and we had 75 degree weather that day. Noah loved being outside. Whenever we open the door at home he goes for the door as fast as possible. I just love kissing those chubby cheeks. Mason loved exploring and hiking around. Lexi, Kaylee & Jordan begged to go on more hikes the next day. Unfortunately it was cold the next day. We went miniature golfing at a place that was only $2/person. Very cool. They had 3 courses to choose from and the kids had a great time.

We found a fun park and roasted hot dogs and s'mores for dinner. We stayed overnight at a hotel which was really fun for everyone. It makes me want to go on another vacation already. I am loving this warm weather.

Lexi's baptism

Lexi turned 8 on March 5th and was able to get baptized that same day. We were lucky to have lots of family come to celebrate:
Grandma & Grandpa Farr:

Grandma & Grandpa Burgess:

All the Farr cousins(except for Judson. We should just crop him in somehow)

Lexi had a fun day. After the baptism she chose to go to Golden Corral for dinner where she ate as many as desserts as possible. She was excited to get her scriptures, scripture case, baptism memory book, necklaces, a bracelet and a Holy Ghost night light for her baptism celebration. (Yes...she was absolutely spoiled!!!)

Mason's first day

I recently joined up with a couple of friends to do preschool for Mason once a week. We only have 3 kids and we meet once a week, but it will be fun for Mason to see them and learn. I took his picture:

He has changed so much over the last year. He is growing up so fast!

Lexi's Concert

Lexi recently had her 2nd Grade Concert. It was fun to go and watch her.

Noah's bathtime

I always have to have at least one bathtime picture of my kids growing up. I don't know why, but this seems required. Here is Noah:

Lexi

I can't remember why we took this picture. I think it was because Lexi really liked this dress. Anyway...it turned out cute.

She immediately tilts her head to one side when she knows she is getting her picture taken.

Friends

Mason has some neighbor friends that he plays with almost every day. This is Mason and his friend Tyler eating pancakes:

Dentist Visit

We recently went to the dentist and everyone was cavity free. Woot Woot! Mason chose fake mustaches for his prize, but happily shared with the other kids:
Okay...so this last one is not of Kaylee in a mustache, but notice how she has candy in her hand (It was the day after Valentines day that we went).

Valentines

Happy Valentines Day!

On Friday, we all dressed up and went to the "Big Band Boogie Ball" that was held at the University in their ballroom. We didn't stay long because it started so late and the little kids were getting tired. I snapped a picture before we left:The music was very entertaining. Doug, of course, was there all night since he is part of hosting the event.

Over the weekend, we purchased a new table with some of our tax refund. We sold our table when we moved to Greeley over a year and a half ago with the intention of buying a new one when we got here. We've been using a "generational" table that my sister Marilee let us borrow and folding metal chairs so it was nice to buy a new table.

Notice the candy, card, and placemats. That is what Doug gave me for Valentines. What a sweetie! The kids all received Valentines from both sets of Grandparents (THANKS!), us, and I'm sure they will come home with tons of candy from school too.

I hope all of you have had a GREAT Valentines day.

Noah update

I realized that I hadn't done a recent "Noah Update" and thought I would squeeze one in today. Noah will be 10 months old on Sunday.

  • He has 7 teeth. (4 on top and 3 on the bottom)

  • He crawled at 7 months old

  • He climbs the stairs (with supervision, of course)

  • Stands up to furniture.

  • Throws his food off of his High Chair when he doesn't want it.

  • Attacks his siblings if they take something away from him. (Nice, huh?)

  • Says Uh-oh, Da da, Ma ma, and boo. (learned in that order)

  • He can clap and wave hi.

  • Loves to play the piano.

This video is from when he was 9 months old:

Mason's Preschool

I decided to home school Mason for Preschool this year. Next year he will probably go to a community/local school for Preschool. He wasn't so sure of the idea at first, but once I showed him how fun it is, he has really liked it.

In the second picture he is holding a Big Bird puppet he made. We have also been talking about feelings and I liked the "surprised" face he was making in the second picture.
