First day of school!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Today was the first day of school. It starts really early here in Colorado. I did notice that they get out on May 20th though. Also...they have short days here. Every Monday they get out of school at 2 pm. The rest of the week it is 3:30 pm. I remember having short days when I was in Elementary School (Although our short days were on Friday, which (in my opinion) makes more sense). The kids were extremely excited to start school. They met their teachers on Tuesday during open house and brought all of their supplies to put in their desks. I can see the school from my backyard and the kids can walk every day. Here is a picture of them in their new "back to school" clothes.

I like the earlier start date. I hope they like school as much as they have liked the new neighborhood. It was fun to see Lexi on the bike. I bet she loves zooming around. Makayla asked me which dance class Lexi was signing up for...then I reminded her that you had moved and she was sad. We miss you.

What cute kids, if I say so myself. I am glad the kids are in school. The sooner they make friends and get into a normal life pattern, the better. It should help with the move. (and the sanity of their mother!

The kids will not have to walk any farther to school than they did to that terrible bus stop in Pahrump last year...and they will have sidewals taboot!

They look excited. It is nice to have a school so close and that they can go together. We will make all the kids walk regardless of how far. That way, they can honestly give the "I walked uphill both ways..." speech to their kids.

We don't start school here in Oregon until after labor day...September 8th! My kids are so bored-I wish they were in school!
